John Conte (both father and son) have done a lot of electrical work in my home during the past ten years. In part because my house is old (1871), they have done many different kinds of work: installing a 200 amp service, replacing much old wiring with new, laying in new circuits so that I could have more electricity in more of my house, and hanging two televisions on the wall. On the roof, they have placed lights that show a metal and glass cresting. On many rooms' ceilings they have laid track lighting to illuminate paintings and photos on the walls. To do much of this work, they had to "fish" electrical lines behind many walls and above many ceilings. Wherever I needed electricity, for whatever purpose, they have been able to provide it. All their work is not only skilled, knowledgeable, and exemplary, it is clean and neat. They meticulously protect floors, carpets, and furniture while they work, and at the end leave the house just as clean as they found it. I recommend them most highly. Ken Weedin
From Caitlin: Thanks for the referral of husband/father, John Conte, for electrical work on our old house...he was so competent, esp. with regard to historic homes and the crazy electrical issues they often have, prioritized safety and was incredibly generous with his time and discounts. He just really knows his stuff. Plus, he was friendly to boot! We have found our family electrician and hope others will think of him when you have such needs in your home! Highly Recommend!
I got the names of these electricians from someone that used them for electric work in a kitchen remodel. This is a father and son team (John and John, confusing at times). The vent fan in the bathroom off the master bath became noisy and needed replacement. My 16 year old daughter has a habit of taking extremely long hot showers in her bathroom, which lead to moldy walls. I contacted John a few weeks before he performed the work for an estimate. He was prompt in showing up for the estimate and we quickly decided on a mutually agreeable time to do the work. They were prompt in getting to my house on the appointed date and went quickly to work. And they worked the entire time they were here. They did not spend time with other phone calls whether to other clients, friends or whoever. This is something that is important to me. I understand that a contractor may need to make an occasional call, but I expect them to work on my stuff when they are being paid by me. The covered every thing exposed with drop cloths. They were very neat in performing their work. Installing the box for the makeup mirror was a new task that I hadn't discussed with them (last minute thing on my part). They were agreeable to doing the work that day, albeit a small amount of work. Thy went out on my garage roof to block off the hole left from the old vent line as they rerouted the new one. This is not really a task for electricians and I actually felt bad about it when I realized this wasn't really their line of work, but they went out on the roof and did what I had asked. They cleaned up after themselves. My wife came home from work looking for the vacuum cleaner expecting to spend a lot of time cleaning up. She was somewhat shocked that she didn't need to run the vacuum cleaner and things were very clean. I am remodeling my kitchen at a future date and will contact these folks to do the electrical work for that. Denny Dutcavich
